Last week a couple of my students asked me to draw them. This is what came out of that session.

This is my good friend Bola Thompson. She was drawing me as I was drawing her.

This is beyond cool!!! I found this photo searching my name on google images. A photographer from "Youth Radio" snapped this shot of me doing a reportage drawing at Oakland City Hall minutes after Mehserle verdict was announced. The photo was posted on Flickr. I remember lots of photographers and news casters approaching me while I was drawing. I was extremely nervous because I knew at any moment there could have been a deadly stampede. This is truly a classic shot :)

I wonder what it's like to be a female riding on transit staring out the window in deep thought when suddenly a guy approaches you with a sketchbook and on the page is a drawing of you... as he begins to smile.

This was a young Queen on the transit. I did a quick sketch and added the gouache wash right there on transit. Tremendously uncomfortable but the lighting was so nice I had to try and capture it.

Taught a Drawing class at The University of San Francisco today. These are the drawings I cranked out on the commute to and fro.

Today I drew people on the end of the day commute. It was very relaxing sitting there listening to my ipod staring at people in they're "Thank God The Day Is Over" state. This is one of the drawings that developed nicely from the session.
