This is a painting study I did of a couple friends riding with me on the bus in Oakland.
This image shows the actual photo I used as reference for the painting. Made the drawing on the spot from life.
So after i did the initial sketch of Ruth Smith I tried varnishing it. The only thing is I was moving really fast and accidentally got some white gouache in my varnish mix, this created white streaks across my painting. I was a little ticked off at first (just a tad). I slept on it. This morning I woke up pumped to fix the painting (for some strange reason because I never fix paintings or drawings). The photo I posted in my previous post on Facebook and this blog was the only reference I had to work from... oh and memory (smilely face). Took about 20 mins but I repainted aspects of the sketch and actually I think it looks awesome!!!
